My abstract images are responses to nature's visual beauty and transformative power for both the artist and the viewer. Growing up in New England, the brilliant reds, oranges,yellow and blue--as well as the soaring, curving lines of trees and branches--influence the way I experience the world. My use of intense colors and multiple glazes allow me to explore the complex layers of life and the surprises that occur at the edges.

I am drawn to Fauve and Expressionist painters who used color and line to express their inner emotions, to explore landscapes in a non-traditional way, and to convey the "spiritual" in art.
